INVITATION

 

  • Invitation is a request (spoken or written) to participate or be present or take in part in an event.
  • Invitation can also be classified in a noun denoting communicative processes and contents.
  • Invitation is used to expressing, inform or expect someone or people's attendance in an event or the other.
 Invitation can be classified n to type.
  1. Formal invitation
  2. Informal invitation
 ~~Formal Invitation~~

 
Formal invitation are usually intended for those people who are older than us, or people who have formal importance.
 Example: 
  1. I'd like to invite you to my sister's wedding.
  2. Would you like to have a dinner with me tonight?
  3. I was wondering if you'd like to join us for a trip to Malang next week.
A formal invitation letter is generally written in third person, and contains no heading, no salutation, and no complimentary close. The writer's name should appear in the body of invitation. The address of the writer and the date should be written to the left.
~~Informal Invitation~~
 
Informal invitation are usually used for people who have a close relationship. Informal Invitation seem more casual and close for other people. Informal invitation usually used in birthday invitation, weddings, garden parties, farewell parties, etc. Formal words usually not used in informal invitation for aims to create the close impression interpersonal.
Example:
  1. Are you free on Sunday? How about going to the beach?
  2. Let's go to the cafeteria now for breakfast.
  3. Will you join us for lunch today?
  4. Come to my birthday tonight.
  5. Would you like to go shopping with me?
 If you accept the invitation, you can respond with these expression:
  1. Thank you, I'd love to.
  2. That would be wonderful.
  3. That would be fun.
  4. Oh, that would be great.
  5. Yes, thank you. What time?
  6. Thanks, I'd love to.
  7. Sounds great.
  8. OK.
  9. All right.
If you refuse the invitation, you should also include the reason for your refusal. Here's an examlpe of refusal the invitation:
  1. I'm awfully sorry, but I have other plans.
  2. I wish I could, but I have already made plans.
  3. I'd really love to, but I have to help my mom that morning
  4. That's very kind of you, but I have to accompany my mom at the time.
  5. If you don't mind, I'd rather not. I've lot of work to do.
